HEALTH FOR LIFE

Helping women to change their habits, lose weight, and transform their health in a pleasurable way, for life.

Breaking unhealthy cycles and building legacy.

  • Lifestyle medicine is a medical approach that uses evidence-based daily behaviors as the primary tool to prevent, treat, and reverse life-style related chronic diseases.

Rather than starting with medications, it addresses root causes through targeted changes in nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress regulation, substance use, and meaningful connection.

By restoring how the body is nourished, moved, and regulated, lifestyle medicine supports metabolic health, reduces inflammation, and creates sustainable, long-term healing from the inside out.

  • Neurosomatic therapy is a body-based approach to emotional healing and behavior change based on the understanding that emotion and behavior are preceded by body input rather than thought.

The premise of this form of therapy is that healing and change begin with signaling safety to the nervous system.  Through practices like breathwork, movement, and body awareness, it shifts the body out of survival states, allowing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to reorganize from a foundation of safety rather than force.

MEET YOUR COACH

Founder of Avant-Garde Healthcare

At the age of 12 I became aware that I was “chubby…”  Thankfully, my parents were not the messengers, nor did they demonstrate concern.  As a result, I did not develop the belief that there was something wrong with me or that I was less than because of weight.

I did, however, become interested in health, and my weight normalized.  At the age of 14, I moved with my family to the United States from Romania, and being attuned to weight and health, I became aware of concerns with hormonally-treated meats.  I promptly made a decision to become vegetarian, and have been one ever since.

My interest in health never ceased, and I pursued a career in healthcare.  In 2011, I earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Loma Linda University.  I decided to continue my education, and in 2015 I graduated from the Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner program at Washington State University.  I have been in clinical practice since.

Interestingly, my doctoral thesis was on weight loss.  In 2024 I discovered the College of Lifestyle Medicine and began the journey of becoming certified.  My experiences in clinical practice, together with the knowledge acquired in studying lifestyle medicine ignited in me an undeniable call to shift the focus of my work to lifestyle medicine and health and wellness.

The Genesis Restoration Method

As a life-long student of human behavior, I bring a wide lens to the process of change.  I see lifestyle-related chronic conditions as symptoms, and unhealthy behaviors as coping mechanisms.  I understand and address the multifactorial determinants of behavior including physiological, neurosomatic, psychological, spiritual, genetic and epigenetic.

I use the proprietary Genesis Restoration Method to guide my clients through a transformative process that uncovers the root causes and processes at work that keep them stuck in ways of being and doing that prevent them from achieving optimal health and wellness.

In my experience, excess weight is the result of compensatory mechanisms born out of fear, as well as the hiding place for an essential part of us.  Real, lasting healing takes place when we feel safe enough to face the truth, and supported enough to come out of hiding.  From this deep place of truth and healing, self care and healthy changes become natural, pleasurable, and sustainable.

The Genesis Restoration Method

  1. Control → Trust

  2. Fear → Safety

  3. Coping Mechanisms → Freedom

  4. Hiding → Authentic Expression

  5. Victimhood → Radical Personal Responsibility
